The Dumfries based Team Gallacher were worthy winners in today's Dumfries Open final. The junior team, comprising Hamish Gallacher, Angus Bryce, Scott Hyslop and Jack Carrick, put on a classy performance in the final to get their hands on the trophy. Skip Gallacher pulled off some spectacular up weight shots, but was also able to draw the four foot under pressure, ably supported by his team.

Gallacher def. MacDonald

McNay def. Craik

L Carson def. Hamilton

Kinnear def. Turner

Semi Finals

Gallacher defeated McNay by stealing the extra end in a close, high scoring game.

L Carson were winners over Kinnear, despite Kinnear's best attempts (including a round the horn triple!), they couldn't recover from Carson's steal of 4 early in the game.

Final

Gallacher leads Carson 5-1 after 3 ends, after an excellent double to score 3 by Hamish in the 3rd end.

The Dumfries Open is the second stop on this Season's Goldline Scottish Curling Tour.

The event features 12 teams in two pools of 6, with the first games at 3pm on Friday (4th October).

Section A features last weekend's finalists Team L Carson, who'll be looking to go one step further and get their hands on the trophy in Dumfries. England's representatives at the upcoming European Championships are also in this group, and they'll be looking to put in a solid performance ahead of their trip to Helsingborg next m...

It has been a great final day at the Braehead Open 2019. The morning draw saw the high road semi finals get underway with Team Muirhead vs Team Woolston and Team Carson vs Team Pougher. The low road had Team Henderson play Team Turner and Team McNay play Team Duff. Win for Muirhead, Carson, Henderson and McNay set up the two finals. 

Team McNay stormed to a 9-0 win over Team Henderson to win the Low road.
