In the high road semis Kinnear lifted a massive 6-ender in the first and then stole two against Carson. Game over early! This gives Kinnear’s side a bit of rest before the final.

In the McCleary v Bryce game, a four to Bryce in the 2nd end was decisive. McCleary battled on but was unable to claw a way back in.

Kinnear plays Bryce for the title at 3pm.

In the low road semis Fleming beat Andrew McAughtrie’s local team for second time this weekend while Woolston beat Reid, the English side finding some form after a...

So the British Open 2018 moves into its third and final act. Reports on the High Road quarter final match-ups are as follows:

The Stirling team skipped by Lee McCleary continued to make the home advantage pay-off by taking an early lead against Stuart Marshall. Lee held on to that lead and then stretched it again picking up a four in the 6th end triggering early handshakes from Marshall. Final score 9-3.

Team Bryce continued their good form dispatching James Pougher 9-3 after five. With this win Cameron’s team...

In the Bronze Route finals, two of the games were one sided affairs, with Stuart Marshall romping to a 7-1 victory over Andrew Woolston and James Pougher jumped out to a very early lead over Andrew McAutrie, winning 10-1 after 4 ends. With one more space in the quarters left, the Davis vs Reid game was a much tighter affair, going to an extra end, with the score 5-5. Reid, without hammer, attempted to draw the button with his last, played it too heavy and actually moved his own stone out of shot position, lea...

With Lee McCleary and Callum Kinnear already assured their quarter final places, with straight runs in the Gold Route, it was getting down to the nitty gritty in the Silver and Bronze Routes.

In the Silver Route Goodfellow, Carson and Bryce made their way to the quarters with wins over Pougher, Marshall and Reid, respectively, sending their opponents into the last chance salloon which is the Bronze Route. It was here that Hannah Fleming missed out on her quarter final chances, with a loss to Paul Davis 8-4. Th...

In the B road Team Bryce bounced back from last night’s loss to overpower Team Ferguson 10-1.

Gordon Jackson versus Michael Reid entertained the spectators this morning in a high scoring affair.  Jackson lost a nasty 4 in the 2nd end but battled on playing some aggressive curling on the fast and swingy ice picking up the next 3 ends to lead 10-4 after five. Reid then picked up a couple of threes!!! to tie 10-10 going into the 8th. Naturally there were lots of stones in play again in the final end. Michael drew...
