British Open - Semis

April 29, 2018

In the high road semis Kinnear lifted a massive 6-ender in the first and then stole two against Carson. Game over early! This gives Kinnear’s side a bit of rest before the final.

In the McCleary v Bryce game, a four to Bryce in the 2nd end was decisive. McCleary battled on but was unable to claw a way back in.

Kinnear plays Bryce for the title at 3pm.

In the low road semis Fleming beat Andrew McAughtrie’s local team for second time this weekend while Woolston beat Reid, the English side finding some form after an up and down weekend so far.

So Fleming will play Woolston for the J.B.Stewart trophy this afternoon.

In the consolation event Gordon Jackson met John Sharp, a good battle ensued and the teams tied 5-5 after six. Jackson picked up a two in the penultimate end but then wrecked on a guard with his last stone allowing John to draw for three and the win. John Sharp’s side move to the Consolation final where they will meet Brian Ferguson.
