British Open - Quarters

So the British Open 2018 moves into its third and final act. Reports on the High Road quarter final match-ups are as follows:

The Stirling team skipped by Lee McCleary continued to make the home advantage pay-off by taking an early lead against Stuart Marshall. Lee held on to that lead and then stretched it again picking up a four in the 6th end triggering early handshakes from Marshall. Final score 9-3.

Team Bryce continued their good form dispatching James Pougher 9-3 after five. With this win Cameron’s team secure the Goldline Scottish Curling Tour title for 2017/18, but can they add the British Open title to their successful season?

Callum’s Kinnear’s unbeaten side also progressed to the High Road semis with a confident win over Paul Davis. A three in the 1st end setting the tone for a 7-4 win.

Finally Michael Goodfellow played Luke Carson in a low scoring game. Carson took his two in the second, then Goodfellow blanked the next five ends before picking up a brace himself in the 8th and pushing the game into an extra end. Goodfellow’s side looked to have chances to steal with plenty of stones in play, but Carson was ultimately left a nose hit for the game which he made confidently.

High Road Semi match-up are: McCleary v Bryce; Kinnear v Carson.
